EMPLOYMENT MATTERS
General Employment Matters
We help businesses handle the full range of employment law issues, from drafting executive employment agreements and non-compete provisions to defending discrimination and other lawsuits in federal and state court, as well as before administrative agencies. Unlike most defense firms, we have insight gained from previously representing plaintiffs, including deep knowledge of the administrative agency process. In addition, we have an attorney with more than a dozen years’ experience as an in-house employment counsel and human resources department leader. We offer practical advice and counsel on the full life-cycle of employee issues, including background checks, compensation, PTO and leave practices, documentation, policies, records retention, Wage Payment Act, Workers’ Compensation Act, Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, FLSA, ERISA, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, WARN and reductions in force, AAP/EEO, and other local, state, and federal laws, rules, and guidance. We also provide independent investigations of workplace complaints, including for claims of harassment, discrimination, wage payment, disciplinary matters, safety, whistleblower claims, or internal policy violations. In conducting these investigations, we can provide impartial factual findings and analysis to assist our clients in assessing risks and solutions. Our unique experience allows us to provide our employer clients with realistic case evaluations into the viability of employee claims, so that cost-effective decisions can be made early in a dispute. Further, we offer practical and proactive advice and guidance on employment issues to improve management practices and minimize employment-related legal risks.
