Experience
Reena leads the firm’s Internal Investigations practice area, regularly partnering with compliance, ethics, employment, and HR departments at fortune 500 corporations of a variety of industries to investigate allegations of fraud, bribery, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and violations of other law or policy. Clients turn to Reena to conduct efficient and targeted investigations while also navigating sensitive interactions with employees, directors, and officers at all levels within an organization. Reena also counsels entities of all sizes in a broad range of industries on compliance and employment matters, and she has experience in complex commercial litigation in state and federal court. Reena’s pro bono practice has included litigating matters in Illinois state criminal court and in Immigration Court.
Reena draws from her experience in state and local government during the onset and height of the pandemic, where she gained on the ground experience with crisis management, state and local rulemaking, state policy, emergency powers, cannabis regulation, clemency, police reform, local enforcement priorities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Representative Matters
Led sensitive privileged investigations on behalf of clients in numerous industries, ranging from high-level employees in government and in private and public sectors to Title IX investigations for universities.
Partnered with in-house counsel to conduct investigations for compliance and employment departments.
Represented an individual and construction company in investigations of financial fraud initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
As a member of a large team, served as a lead associate for an oil and gas company in a cross-border government-initiated Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation, including responses to inquiries from and representation in front of the Department of Justice and Securities Exchange Commission.
As a member of large team, led a group of associates in all investigative and advocacy efforts in a large-scale False Claims Act matter for a large medical device company.
As a member of a large team, investigated a complex whistleblower fraud complaint on behalf of the corporation’s Board of Directors.
